FIVE more primary schools have been handed over to the council.
The schools were the last of 13 to be built as part of the council's £175m private finance initiative deal with contractor Carillion.
They are:
• Cherrydale, Cudworth.
• Piper’s Grove, Oakwell, to replace Grove Street.
• Joseph Locke, Raley Street, which replaces Longcar primary.
• Darton primary.
• Sandhill primary.
Contracts manager Brendan Lunn said: “We are delighted with the end result of the schools. We are thrilled that we've handed over all 13 schools on time and to budget.”
Carillion will maintain the schools for 25 years.
