AFTER sales boss Dave Matthewman is celebrating after steering his way through 30 years in the motor trade.
He has clocked up three decades with Barnsley dealership Perrys and says the changes during that time have made for a hugely varied career.
Joining as an apprentice vehicle technician at the age of 17, Barnsley local Dave has worked his way through almost every position in the after sales department.
He has been able to help customers with queries and questions over the years and has become a popular character within the dealership and wider community. Perrys recognised his achievement with a special long service award and gave Dave some Red Letter Days vouchers.
Dave said: “Over the last three decades I have seen many changes both at the dealership and in the motor trade in general, which has made for a fast-paced, interesting environment to work.
“I don’t know where the time has gone and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the sector to anyone looking for a fruitful career.”
Alan Greenwood, regional director at Perrys, said: “It’s becoming increasingly rare that a person stays in one place for such a significant portion of their career, so we are understandably delighted with Dave’s achievement.
“I thank him for his dedicated service over the years and how he has helped us grow as a team and business.”
