WHILE helping in her mum's business, Chloe Frid just fell in love with the bath bomb world.

So the broadcast journalism graduate decided to go the whole hog and help launch her family's first bath and body products shop.

MINT has now taken a bow on Hoyland High Street and early signs are good.

“We've had lots of positive comments. People are saying the shop is something really different for Hoyland, which is great,” said Chloe, 22, who graduated with a 2:1 from Huddersfield University last year.

“While I was at university, I worked part-time alongside my mum, Lisa, helping her with her wholesale bath and body products business Angelic Aromas.

“She has had this business for almost seven years, successfully shipping orders throughout the UK and Europe.

“Once I graduated, I decided I wanted to continue helping with my mum’s business making bath bombs, soaps and other body products.”

Many of the products are made at a unit in Rotherham and now sold in Hoyland with the opening of the family’s first retail shop.

The story began with Lisa, who is 46, running her fledgling business from the garage at the family home in Wombwell.

“Our home was like a warehouse. Mum went on to operate from a unit and now on to the shop.

“When I was helping part-time, I really enjoyed it and fell in love with the bath bomb world. And I still have my degree which will enable me to do something else if I ever want to.

“But it's going really well. You can’t know how something like this is going to go, but the signs are good.”

Not only do Lisa and Chloe sell their products in Hoyland, but we also make bath bombs on the shop premises, which many customers find interesting.

MINT’s products are cruelty-free and suitable for vegetarians.

“We are proud to say they are hand-made in Yorkshire by us,” said Chloe.

The products include children's soap shapes, essential oil soaps, bubbly bath salts, fruity bath bombs, perfume bath bombs and bath bomb shapes.

“Many customers seem surprised when we tell them we make everything by hand,” added Chloe.
