A SENIOR partner of a solicitors in Barnsley has been appointed as a deputy district judge after being chosen from more than 1,500 applicants.
Glyn Staves is a senior partner and head of dispute resolution for MKB Solicitors, which is based in Huddersfield Road. He was selected from 1,600 applicants for the role of a part-time deputy district judge following a rigorous application.
All applicants were judged on merit alone measured by five core qualities, intellectual capacity, personal qualities, ability to understand and deal fairly, authority and communication skills, and efficiency.
Glyn will sit as deputy district judge on the South Eastern Circuit once he has completed his judicial training.
Glyn has practised in the area of dispute resolution for more than 15 years and joined MKB in 2014. He advises on complex and high value litigation in the County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal.
