CREATIVE market trader Francesca Farrar’s products are made of stirring stuff.
The creativity and presentation of her Stirring Silver business which makes jewellery out of old silver spoons, beat 150 young traders from all over the country to take the title of Young Trader of the Year at the finals held live on the BBC’s One Show on Monday evening.
Graduate Francesca, 22 of Langsett, Penistone, won her way to the semi finals last week at Stratford-upon- Avon when four of the young people were chosen to highlight their goods.
She was chosen at earlier heats in York to represent Yorkshire in her bid.
The National Market Traders Federation competition was designed to encourage more young people into market trading.
Her award was presented by presenter Matt Baker, who congratulated all finalists for the passion they put into their products.
Francesca said: “I’m so pleased that all my hard work has paid off.”
Her business, first launched when she was 15 by creating earrings, bracelets and rings from hallmarked silver spoons has now expanded to making lamps out of antique objects.
