A YOUNG girl from Barnsley has astonished doctors by walking after it was feared she may be permanently paralysed from the waist down.
Energetic Mia Park, 13, suffers from a rare condition which renders her completely unable to move, usually from the neck down, for hours at a time.
But frighteningly she hadn't been able to move from the waist down since Sunday and mum Sarah, 39, feared it may have been permanent and was planning for Mia spending the rest of her life in a wheelchair.
But yesterday the teenager defied all expectations when she suddenly regained feeling in her legs and began to walk.
