The Secret Life of Jamie B, Rapstar by Ceri Worman has won the Nottingham Children¹s Book Award thanks to support from nearly 200 schools, libraries and nurseries. Ceri, of Penistone, also works part-time for Barnsley children¹s libraryservices and she is delighted the second book in the Jamie B series is a hit.
She said: "I used to read a chapter a night to my son and if he was getting bored I knew I had to change it. I was surprised to be up for the award, I wanted to go because I thought it would be lovely to go and meet some of the children and then I found out I'd won." Ceri has now been signed up for three books about her latest character, a teenage girl called Maddy Blue.
