CRIMINAL damage has increased across four Barnsley wards, a police inspector has told a community safety group.
It was disclosed at the North / West Local Policing team’s meeting by Insp Julie Mitchell who gave an update on the latest crime figures for the Darton West, Darton East, St Helen’s and Old Town wards.
The figures given at this month’s meeting show criminal damage increased across each of the four wards, with 30 incidents logged in total compared to 23 the previous month. The highest volume of criminal damage was recorded in Old Town and St Helens.
Antisocial behaviour remains the worst offender - 113 crimes were reported to officers, with Old Town and the St Helens suffering the worst.
