THREE new homes could go up in the grounds of the Royal Albert pub - which ceased trading years ago - if Barnsley Council accepts the proposal.
The former Blacker Hill pub has land to the rear of the building which served as a car park and gardens but now Londoner Stephen Holt has applied for planning permission to put three houses there.
The development would not affect the pub building itself.
Under the scheme proposed, three detached four bedroomed houses would occupy the plot, with a total of nine parking spaces between them.
According to planning documents, some neighbours have been consulted about the development plans already.
