A LOLLIPOP lady at a Royston primary school has been crowned as Barnsley's favourite.
Debbie Williams, of Craven Close, has been at Summerfields for about six years and was nominated by children, parents and staff in the 'Loveliest Lollipop Person' competition run by Warburtons.
Debbie said: "I'm over the moon. I'm really pleased especially because the children had to say something about me and they kept it a secret. "I love the job. It's hard in winter but I do enjoy it."
Debbie will now be put forward for the title of 'Yorkshire and the Humber’s Loveliest Lollipop Person'.
She was presented with holiday vouchers and a hamper of Warburtons goodies on Tuesday.
