THE leader of the opposition stormed out of the town hall angry that his political group had been linked to the BNP.
When Labour Coun Joe Coun Hayward refused to withdraw the remark, Coun Fisher and several colleagues stormed out of the meeting.
Coun Fisher said: "He suggested that the Barnsley Independent Group is in league with the BNP. To say that is an absolute travesty." Coun Hayward said he has 'no regrets' about what he said.
