A BELOVED DJ is back in the game after suffering a mini-stroke - which he admits he is lucky to have recovered from.
Tommy Taylor, 76, was born in Northern Ireland but found his home in Cudworth where he has lived and worked for the last 55 years.
The veteran DJ is well-known for working as a former We Are Barnsley radio host, wedding DJ and is a mainstay at quiz events.
Tommy is so dedicated to his craft that despite being struck down by a mini-stroke four weeks ago, he has already returned to work.
He admitted that DJing at the Full House pub in Monk Bretton has been one of his career highlights - and while he is semi-retired and has given up mobile work, he isn’t looking to stop playing there anytime soon.
He told the Chronicle: “When you get a warning sign like that it’s best to back off a bit.
“I actually had my mini-stroke whilst I was working at the quiz night.
“The team of occupational therapists at Kendray Hospital have been brilliant.
“They come out to me on a regular basis and they are very patient and understanding and have put me at ease.
“I’m lucky that I haven’t suffered long-term problems from the stroke.
“I’m semi-retired now, I’ve stopped mobile work, but the quiz is something I’ll definitely carry on with.”
