THERE will be a healthy contingent of Barnsley runners at the English Schools Championships in Birmingham this weekend.
Barnsley AC’s Riley Hall, Poppy Kaye, Vanessa Ndambakuwa and Amelie Spicer have all qualified to represent South Yorkshire after competing at the Yorkshire and then Northern Championships. Sprinter Vanessa won gold medals in both events while the others took medals.
Maya Schofield, from Royston, is also Yorkshire and North of England champion over 800m and will represent West Yorkshire Schools. Graihagh Turner, from Penistone, is due to run for South Yorkshire over 1500m.
