THE INTERCHANGE has been dubbed Teletubbieland thanks to its glaring colour scheme.
The £24m station is almost ready but although people are on board with what it will do they are not happy with the way it will look.
Coun Malcolm Hall is behind the project but said: “There’s no point spoiling the ship for a ‘apath of tar”.
One nearby businessman said: “It looks like Teletubbieland. The public think its a monstrosity, If I had a pound for every customer who has asked me if it's a rollercoaster.”
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive said the use of contrasting colours creates a lively street presence and will give the Interchange a distinctive character within the town centre.
