A BEAUTY salon and charity shop which form part of a row of terraced properties will be turned into houses.
The ground floors of the two, two storey properties, on Derwent Road, Athersley South, were being used as a beauty salon and charity shop, with flats above each.
Ron Brannon, of Berneslai Homes, was given permission on Tuesday to combine the ground floor of each unit with the existing flat above to create two, three-bedroom homes with accommodation over two floors.
Plans state the loss of the two retail units 'would not be a significantly detrimental' to the local community's access to shops and local services.
