A MULTI-TIME donor to the Little Princess Trust has fundraised her way to a Proud of Barnsley nomination.
Jasmin Sanders, eight, has raised nearly £1,500 for the charity.
The charity gives ‘hair and hope’, providing youngsters who have lost their hair through cancer treatment with free, real hair wigs.
Despite Jasmin’s young age, which makes her selfless attitude all the more admirable, her charitable journey started at age five.
Sharing her plans with her grandma, Kerry, Jasmin set out to raise £500 to cover the costs of wig making.
Alongside her sister Anya, who shares Jasmin’s caring nature, the girls exceeded their goal raising over £600 - through a combination of bracelet making, bake sales and a dedication to growing their Just Giving page.
The Royston youngster first had her hair cut for the charity in March 2023, becoming a two-time donor just three years later.
To usher in her latest haircut, Jasmin hosted a ‘summer fair’ in May, at the Pack Horse pub, in Royston, with a tombola, cake stall and more.
Jasmin even sold some of her second-hand toys to raise money for the fundraiser, as well as asking local businesses to get involved.
The fundraiser reached £530, as well as £90 from a mini-fundraiser at the Barnsley Bowl.
Jasmin braved the chop for the second time at the Pack Horse, alongside a raffle and another collection for the charity.
It’s clear that Jasmin is showing no signs of slowing down with her fundraising efforts - with her hosting a car-boot sale on Sunday and already brainstorming new ways to support the Little Princess Trust.
Jasmin’s grandma, Kerry, said: “Jasmin makes all of her family so proud every day, she is such a thoughtful girl.
“She’s had her hair cut for the charity twice now, once at five and once at eight.
“She asked the hairdresser whilst her hair was getting cut if she could book in another appointment for when she turns 11.
“Jasmin is constantly thinking about fundraising, I’ve never known a child to be so passionate about it.
“She’s so kind and caring.
“To me, for a five-year-old to come up with the idea for fundraising out of the blue, it’s amazing.
“She’s always talking about what she can do next to support the Little Princess Trust.”
