A PENISTONE youngster has dived headfirst into success, finding gold at the end of the springboard.

Catriona Fraser, of Windermere Road, somersaulted her way to eight gold medals when she competed in the North Eastern Counties and Yorkshire Age-Group Diving Championship, at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, on Saturday.

“I just love the water,” said the ten-year-old, who has been diving since she was eight. But she still gets nervous when looking down from the board: “I just think, what am I going to do, why am I doing this? I get butterflies but then act as normal.”
