THE MAYOR and Mayoress of Barnsley, Coun Ken Sanderson and wife Beryl will officially open the Dearne Carnival next Saturday, July 5.
It will be held at the miners' welfare hall in front of the Dearne Playhouse at Washington Road, Goldthorpe, 10.30am-4pm.
Entertainment includes a Wild West show, Thurnscoe's Hill Primary School band, football tournament, children's attractions and a balloon race.
It has been organised by the Dearne Carnival Committee and the Dearne Community Partnership.
