MUSIC lovers can enjoy a free late-summer live festival in aid of charity and an eyeful of Barnsley lad Sam Nixon when he performs with band Mason.
EastFest has been organised by the people behind Darton M-Fest and will take place at the Eastfield Arms pub, in Staincross, on Sunday, August 24.
It runs from 1pm until 9pm and revellers can enjoy lots of bands, DJ's and family entertainment including Steph Shaw, Citizens, Mason, The Stripes, Lecorum and Cuba, who have the honour of headlining.
One of the M-Fest organisers, Mat Lovett, told the Chronicle they will put on a host of live music events throughout Barnsley between now and M-fest 2009 and EastFest is the first of many.
