A FOOTBALL match in Royston was abandoned after a player who was sent off came back brandishing what eye witnesses called a 'long sword'.
Spectators at the Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Cup game last Sunday between Royston Villa and Mosborough saw the player with 'a golf club and a long sword'.
The match, being played on fields next to the Ring O' Bells pub on Royston Lane, was called off in the 80th minute.
