TRADERS and residents on Racecommon Road say a collision on Wednesday, which has left a young motorcyclist fighting for his life, shows how dangerous the route is.
Shopkeepers say there is widespread double parking on the Barnsley road. Much of it they claim, is from people who working in the town centre.
Police said the 18-year-old man, who has not been named, is in Barnsley Hospital with life-threatening head injuries after his red and black bike collided with a silver Rover car travelling away from Town End roundabout. The rider fell from the bike and then collided with the back of a white Renault Midlam truck travelling in the opposite direction.
