A wind turbine which had been marked down for refusal has been approved for a house in Green Moor.

In a surprise u-turn, a couple from Windy Bank Hall have been given the go ahead to build a 15m wind turbine to generate electricity for their house on green belt land.

Mr and Mrs Bradley sought approval for the 15kW output turbine to provide power to the house without any excess being exported to the National Grid.

Concern was raised by Hunshelf Parish Council members about its size and it not being in keeping with the neighbouring Green Moor Sports Club and Isle of Skye.
