A NEW Tesco supermarket on the site of a former school in Hoyland would create 140 jobs.
The supermarket giant’s partner Litton Properties has bought the land where Market Street school was from Barnsley Council.
But councillors and local businesses are fearful of the impact on local businesses. Consultation will now take place and a public exhibition has been planned for the New Year.
