BARNSLEY head coach Conor Hourihane said it was 'nice to win' after they dumped out York City in the first round of the FA Cup - but admits it was a tough test against the National League side.
Josh Stones opened the scoring for York before Davis Keillor-Dunn levelled for the Reds the half-hour mark.
The Barnsley striker then put the Reds 2-1 in front in the 77th minute before Mark Kitching levelled the game for York two minutes from time.
But centre-back Marc Roberts won the game in the first minute of added time and put the League One side through to the second round of the FA Cup.
Hourihane said: "It's just nice to win and get through.
"Credit to York, I thought they were outstanding.
"I've played in plenty of these games and it's really difficult when your fans turn up and expect to win 4 -0.
"'It's not easy so the lads showed real character to get themselves back into the game after a slow start.
"You've just got to get the job done and luckily enough for us we did."
Murphy Cooper made numerous saves to keep the Reds in it, including one in the dying seconds of the game.
Hourihane praised his performance.
He said: "I thought we showed some good stuff at times.
"We were blocking shots off the line at times and putting our bodies on the line.
"Murph was making some good saves.
"That's what Murph is there to do.
"He's quick off his line, he's agile and I thought he was brilliant today in terms of the saves that he made at big moments."
