A LOCAL garage punk band have released their first studio album - and it’s been praised by some of the nation’s biggest music names.
Gail Townsend and Patrick Crawford, an engaged couple from Dodworth, make up The Puncturists alongside Dale Farrow and Martin Gregory.
Gail has only been singing for two-and-a-half years but the band’s first studio album, ‘I’m Not Alright’, has just been released.
Patrick said: “We’ve been working on this album for most of the year.
“The album consists of 11 songs, including a slightly longer version of our recent single ‘55’, and showcases where we are as a band as well as looking forward to the direction we’re going in.
“The song is available to download and CD versions can be ordered from our website.
“It’s also available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.”
Their track ‘55’ was played on New Dawn FM and Patrick described it as a ‘pinch me’ moment.
Steve Lillywhite, who has collaborated with numerous musicians including The Killers, The Pogues and The Rolling Stones, said: “That was absolutely fantastic.
“Singing Johnny Rotten’s snarl without the snarl and that was really attractive.”
Patrick added: “To say we are blown away by these comments is an understatement.”
