NICKY Eaden’s Barnsley under 18s face a top-of-the-table clash at his former club Wigan Athletic on Saturday after two away wins this week took them up to second in the Professional Development League North.
The young Reds have won five in a row and only lost one in ten.
That leaves them a point behind leaders Wigan.
They won 2-1 at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday. Josh Heyes and Noah Town scored. They both also netted as Barnsley beat hosts Fleetwood Town 2-0 on Tuesday.
After the Wigan game, they will have four remaining this season.
The top two reach the play-offs.
Barnsley under 21s are due to host Sheffield United from 1pm on Friday.
