A NEW poll has suggested that the Reform Party will gain a majority in the town hall at next month’s local elections.

According to PollCheck, Reform will gain 35 seats, while Labour could be left with just 14 councillors down from its current 46.

The Lib Dems will have 12 councillors, the Green Party will have one councillor in Darton West and Coun Jake Lodge of Worsbrough will be the only independent candidate to keep his seat.

The Athersley and New Lodge ward, Wombwell and Cudworth are the only areas that will remain under full Labour control.

Hoyland Milton, Monk Bretton, Central, Rockingham, Penistone East, North East and Stairfoot are all predicted to go fully to Reform.

Kingstone, Darton East, Penistone West and Dodworth, Stainborough and Tankersley are tipped to be under Lib Dem leadership.

PollCheck say there is a ‘near certain’ chance of a control change at the town hall.
