A poppy seller is trying to trace a woman who donated more than £50 to the poppy appeal after members of a social club sold the poppies they had knitted.
John Shepherd, 78, of Dodworth, stands outside the Civic Hall on Eldon Street every year to sell poppies for the Royal British Legion.
He was given the money in a plastic wallet by a woman, thought to be in her 50s or 60s, and wants to thank her.
He said: "It's a lovely thought and a lovely collection. Everyone from the club had made a donation, they must be somewhere in Barnsley."
