A BARNSLEY MP stopped off at a historic site to take in a popular annual event.

Stephanie Peacock, who represents Barnsley South, attended Medieval Mayhem at Monk Bretton Priory, Barnsley’s oldest heritage site.

This was the sixth year that the Medieval Mayhem has been held, organised by the volunteers at Jolly Good Communities and the Friends of Monk Bretton Priory group.

Stephanie said: “This year’s Medieval Mayhem was an action-packed weekend with stalls, activities, a new kids’ history trail from Barnsley Museums, archery, axe throwing and fire-breathing jesters.

“I’d like to thank Tom Sheard, chair of the Friends of Monk Bretton Priory, for inviting me as well as all the volunteers who gave up their time to make the event such a big success for our community.”
