Barnsley have sold goalkeeper Jackson Smith to League Two club Port Vale for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old signed in 2024 and made six appearances for the Reds, all in the spring of 2025, but was often third choice.
He spent the second half of last season on loan Grimsby who lost in the League Two play-offs.
His exit leaves the Reds with young stoppers Kieren Flavell and Rogan Ravenhill who have come through the Oakwell academy. The Reds are expected to look for a new goalkeeper in the transfer market.
