ELEVEN of Barnsley’s historic sites feature on a ‘heritage at risk’ list which expresses concern over the condition of conservation areas in the borough.
Historic England has named the locations in its latest heritage at risk register. The condition of Worsbrough village’s conservation area is described as ‘very bad’ by the heritage body.
A stone built dovecote at Tankersley, built in 1735 as part of the Glebe Farm for Richard Goodwin, rector from 1715 to 1752, also makes the list.
Two churches feature - St Helen’s on High Street, Thurnscoe, and St Peter’s, Brinckman Street, Barnsley.
