TRADERS in a Barnsley suburb whose businesses are being badly affected by ongoing road works have been assured the work will be complete soon.
Contractors for Yorkshire Water are undertaking what the company planned to be a month long scheme in Mapplewell.
Leah Lockwood, who owns The Talbot Inn, Towngate, has now hit out at the lack of information forthcoming from the authorities regarding the situation and when it was likely to be resolved.
“The road works are having a detrimental effect on already quiet January trade in the village for 53 local businesses.”
