AS a global online fashion retailer, ASOS has created a multi-channel shopping experience where twenty-something fashion lovers from all over the world can network, share ideas, create their own unique style and of course, shop.
Even though the ASOS head office is based in London, the work done here in Grimethorpe is fundamental to the business; the warehouse is responsible for sending thousands of packages each day to fashion-forward customers.
The warehouse is the second largest employer in the borough after the council.
As a long-time supporter of the Proud of Barnsley awards, ASOS has seen its support crown some of Barnsley’s most inspirational and hardworking people as worthy winners.
This year ASOS will once again be sponsoring the Exceptional Achievement category, as it shows how just one person can affect so many lives.
The company is honoured to be a part of such a proud community that has had many great achievements.
Seani Armitage, ASOS corporate responsibility coordinator, said: “Being from Yorkshire myself, I was particularly excited to hear that my role at ASOS meant that I could be responsible for our community programmes in Barnsley.
“It is so important to celebrate the people that are making a difference to the lives of others. The Proud of Barnsley ‘Exceptional Achievement’ award shows that there are some truly inspirational people within the local community.
“ASOS is proud to be able to support an award that recognises the time, energy, skills and passion that those people have devoted to their community and shows them the appreciation that they deserve.”
