A PLANNING inspector has rejected plans which could have seen three new wind turbines appear at Ingbirchworth following the decommissioning of the existing Royd Moor wind farm.
The application to install the equipment, at Spicer Hill, off Whitley Road, was rejected by Barnsley Council but taken to appeal by JG Pears Ltd, which had made the application.
They had offered not to start work on the new development until the Royd Moor turbines were removed, but that offer was dismissed as carrying insufficient weight to consider because that site only has temporary planning permission and has to be removed by 2018 in any circumstances.
