THREE galas went ahead on Saturday with thousands of revellers making the most of the sunny weekend.
Wombwell High Street, Darfield Park and Hemingfield Rec all hosted galas with huge turnouts.
Wombwell's committee said it was the biggest and best summer event yet with over £1,000 raised towards the Christmas decorations for the High Street.
Passing cars from outside the area stopped to see what was going on as rides, stalls and attractions filled the pavements. The committee also recruited one more business to join its scheme.
One attendee said: “It was a shame all the galas were on the same day. There was time to go to all three but you would be skint when you got to the third one.”
