A COW had to be rescued by firefighters after it lost its footing in a milking parlour and got stuck.
The crew at Barnsley station received the unusual call on Saturday morning requesting their help to move a cow in distress at a farm in Thurlstone.
Brenda Davies, from the Royd Moor Road farm, said a cow with a touch of milk fever - a condition found in dairy cows close to calving caused by a calcium deficiency - had been a bit wobbly on her feet and tumbled.
