KIRK BALK pupils were A-mazed by their exam results as the school achieved good grades for the third year running.

Nervous students queued from 9am yesterday to receive their marks and for most it was well worth the wait.

Leah Crowley, 16, of Hoyland Road, Hoyland Common, was delighted with her six As, three Bs and two Cs.

She said: “I'm right chuffed, I can’t hold it in. I thought I was going to fail at least three of them. “When I did English in November I got a D but now I have an A.”

Leah plans to continue her studies at Barnsley College taking human biology, sociology, PE and chemistry at A-level.

Kelly Sanderson, 16, of Regent Court, Hoyland Common was happy with her results but sad to be leaving the school.
