A FOOTBALLER struck down by a rare illness is having a fundraiser organised in his name by the two teams he plays for.
Aaron Tate, 24, currently remains in Barnsley Hospital’s intensive care unit, supported by breathing apparatus after he was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome.
The condition causes the immune system to attack its own nerves rather than germs in the body, and is often triggered after an infection.
