PATIENTS at Barnsley Hospice and their families are to be offered the chance of a trip to a home game at Oakwell

Hospice fundraising manager Sam Silverwood was delighted to welcome Ian Leech, commercial manager at Barnsley FC and Paul Gosney, business development manager at City Taxis, to the hospice where they presented her with two season passes for the 2017/18 season.

The passes will be used to support the work of the hospice’s family team, who work closely with patients who have been diagnosed with a life limiting illness.

They also provide specialist support for patients’ families, including children through a period of bereavement.

Sam said: “We cannot thank Paul and the team at City Taxis enough for their generous donation to the hospice.

“Our family team work with patients and their relatives at a time which is most difficult in their lives, so to be able to offer them the opportunity to go to a home game at Oakwell will be a welcome distraction for them and hopefully help them to make further memories together.”
