THE TOUR de Yorkshire event has raised more than £100,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The racing spectacle passed through the Penistone district and surrounding villages for the final leg of the three stage race in April before culminating at the Fox Valley retail park in Stocksbridge.

The Tour de Yorkshire’s partnership with Alzheimer’s Society has smashed all targets this year, raising the landmark figure for the charity.

Welcome to Yorkshire unveiled the charity as its official charity partner for the 2017 race last December. Both teams have worked closely since then to raise as much money as possible and maximise the benefits for people affected by dementia.
