CO-OP shoppers have helped contribute more than £2,000 to charities and community groups in Barnsley.
The supermarket's community fund will pay out £2, 285 to seven local organisations with cash awards ranging from £250 to £500.
Recipients this year:
Chewin T Cud magazine, £500, for printing costs;
Station House Community Association, £435 to provide healthy snacks and craft activities for children;
Monk Bretton, £250, a Christmas meal for elderly people in the village;
Barnsley Access Select Committee, £350, to improve disabled access in the town;
Silkstone United, £250, to put towards a training kit for the under nines team;
Darfield Library readers' group and Worsbrough Library readers' group, £250 to buy books.
Joan Keysell, Co-op's regional secretary said: "The community fund can make a real and lasting contribution to local communities and we are delighted to support these deserving groups in the Barnsley area."
