A RESCUE attempt for doomed old folks’ home Green Park House has been announced by Penistone Town Council.
The council hope to jointly buy the care home with an independent provider when a new local government act is approved next year.
Green Park was one of the last four care homes that the council decided to close to save money in October.
If no private firm buys Green Park, Penistone, will be without a residential home when it closes in the next few months.
The town council hope to form a trust with another group such as the Penistone and District Community Partnership and buy a percentage with a private company.
