A COUNCILLOR has criticised a proposed traffic regulation order for Darton because it will place parking restrictions on an access road to the new primary school.
The order has been proposed and agreed by the council to ease traffic congestion on Station Road but also includes enforcement measures for the road to Darton Primary.
Coun John Parkinson has criticised the order saying he was under the impression proposals for the access road to the school had been resolved.
Residents will face parking restrictions on the road through the day and means them having to get up to move their cars before 8am even during school holidays.
He added: "Everyone agrees with the proposals for Station Road but common sense says that these proposals for the access road will put more parked cars on the main road, adding to the problem of congestion.
"Unfortunately the proposed traffic regulation order has not taken into account the concerns of the residents or my comments last summer."
