ANGELA Nayar has made a sign to hang on her door telling the fire brigade how many people are in her house in case another car crashes into the front room.

Six cars have smashed into the house while she has lived there. Last week a driver lost control of a car on the corner of Station Road and Stonyford Road and ended up inside her Ings Road home.

The sign on her side door - she does not use the front door because it keeps getting crashed into - says 'In the event of further impact on this house please rescue seven cats and (one) people', but there is also a dial which can be moved to show the correct number of people in the house at all times.

Angela, 60, now plans to set the dial every time someone comes home, or a visitor arrives. She is terrified there could be another crash and bring the whole house down.

The latest crash happened last Friday at 10.30pm. The front of the car went through the wall into front room and sent the front door flying off its hinges. A large amount of brickwork was dislodged and fire-fighters, fearing there could be a collapse, hurried Mrs Nayar out of her home and advised her not to go back in.

She said: "I was asleep when it happened and by the time I came downstairs the police and fire brigade were already there. They were asking how many people were in the house so I decided I would make the sign in case it happens again."
