A REDS' fan injured during the earthquake said he was most bothered about missing tomorrow's game against Sheffield Wednesday and next Saturday's FA clash against Chelsea.

David Bates, 19, of Barnsley Road, was watching TV in bed when a chimney stack weighing an estimated third of a tonne crashed through the roof and struck him at 12.57am on Wednesday, breaking his pelvis.

Speaking from his hospital bed yesterday, he said after the quake he heard what sounded like crashing plates.

David said he was gutted to be missing the football and had tickets for both matches.

Fire crews were also called to houses in Bolton-on-Dearne and Thurnscoe where the quake had sent chimneys crashing.
