AN AUCTION of 350 vintage tractors and farm machinery fetched tens of thousands of pounds last Saturday.
One man, Brent Matthewman, 30, spent about £16,000 on four tractors. They included a 1941 Marshall Model M for which he paid £8,500.
Mr Matthewman, who only started collecting tractors a few months ago and owns a lorry fleet repair business, said he aimed to restore the vehicles and possibly take them to shows.
He said he had been fascinated by agricultural machines and vehicles since he was growing up in Silkstone Common. His parents Nigel and Andrea Matthewman are retired farm owners.
