THOUSANDS enjoyed the summer sunshine at the 31st annual Penistone Mayor's Parade and Gala last weekend.
Crowds lined the streets as the floats, with the theme Fashion Through the Ages, paraded down the High Street before making their way to the recreation ground for a spectacular stunt show and a battle of the Knights of the Crusade.
Gallons of ice cream and cold beer kept spectators cool as they watched the dog show, the classic car show and enjoyed fairground rides.
And it wasn't just Penistone locals who turned out to enjoy the fun in the sun.
Paula Loach and her family came from Elsecar to see what the show had to offer.
She said: "This is the first time we have been to the parade and it was great. You could get right to the edge of the road and see all the lovely floats. The kids are having a great time too, they are loving the rides and watching the stuntmen."
The mayor then handed out prizes for the best decorated float. The winners were Razzmatazz, the runner up was Little Freddies, and Penistone Young Farmers came third.
