A SHY singer who has never performed in public will make his debut at Glastonbury after winning a computer game competition.
Adrian McKenzie, 42, of Eaden Crescent, Hoyland, has never even been to a festival but will join the likes of Kate Nash and The Pigeon Detectives on the Queen's Head stage next week.
The former civil servant beat thousands to be crowned UK champion of the PlayStation 3 game 'Singstar' and landed two VIP tickets to the festival in Somerset.
"It's a once in a lifetime opportunity so I'm going to go for it. This is my first time at a festival and my first time playing at one so it will be a experience," said Adrian. "My friends and family thought I was having them on at first. I think it was a bit of a shock for everyone."
