MP Mick Clapham has given his backing to plans for a memorial to more than 800 miners from the Dodworth area killed in pit accidents and disasters.
The memorial will include a statue of a miner at the coal face designed by Barnsley sculptor Graham Ibbeson, who created the memorial outside the NUM offices in Barnsley.
