PLANS to rebuild Kirk Balk school are one step closer after the council approved the latest proposals. The Hoyland Advanced Learning Centre will be built on the playing fields and the current site will be knocked down after the new building is completed. The proposed development is part of Barnsley's Building Schools for the Future programme and work is expected to start within three years Designs show there will be two buildings comprising five 'teaching zones' featuring technology, community, expressiveness, humanities and maths and science.
